Hello everyone, we are home at last, finally finished his chemo at 7o'c tonight, we've come home with bagfuls of drugs again. Also to stop his white cells and neutrophils going so low again I also have an injection to give him everyday to give him a bit of a boost, he's not looking forward to this attall, but guess what 'i am'!!!!
As Brian said on previous post, this cycle of chemo has gone really really well, not a bit of sickness and this time they run the chemo through during the night so that he slept through it, probably the best way to do it.
He's also met a young 18yr old guy who was in the bed next to him, he also has Ewings and was starting out on his first cycle, he's really great and plays the guitar so Richard bought up some musical accompaniments and Brads Bongo's so that they could get a little rhythm going!!!! They'll probably be in together on the next cycle so it'll be good to see him again.
Hopefully the next two weeks will go smoothly for Brad, he's already put on 6kg of the 9 that he lost, so we'll fatten him up some more over xmas then he's back on the 4th Jan for round 3.
Thanks also to Shelly and Brian for Bradley's gifts, the blanket went down well, we had a nice cuddle under that, and the hat - well what can i say, it went round the ward, everybody wanted to try it on.
Well, Merry Christmas to everyone, hopefully we'll be able to get together with most of you at some point if he's feeling up to it, and if he's not on too many drugs then i'm sure he'll partake of a Magners or two to celebrate!!!!!
Lots of love Mikki

Hi Brad,Mikki,Bri & family,Glad your home safe and sound.I hope the jurney was not to bad.Well Brad you clever thing,as Shelly said you are knocking this Cliff sideways. So glad they sorted out the sickness thing, that was really getting you down wasn't it.Cor your brave letting your mum do the injections, how about Shellys idea of an ice cube on the place it's going first. And i think your mums brave doing it as well.Did you have any pics done in that hat at the hospital?be nice to see one on here.Keep up with the eating well, and please take it easy other wise as well, don't want to tire yourself out.So thrilled you are feeling so much better, and its nice you made freinds with Simon, and will be doing a bit of jamming.Speak to you soon, much love to you as always.Nan xxxxxxx
Hi Brad, MOST EXCELLENT NEWS! Both Holly & I are really pleased to hear that everything went well this visit to the Hospital....
Now, about eating, heard you like Marmite but it was a tad rough on the throat...O.K. Got it sorted...
BEST IDEA YET!....
CHIP BUTTIES WITH MARMITE!!!!
soft bread of course, and any colour you like, you can even cut the crusts off like I do. Seriously Brad I love them. (When I can get hold of the Marmite that is.) It's a tad 'strange kinda brownish blackish, gooey, smelly, tar like you put down on the road sort of substance that only 'mad dogs, Australians and Irishmen' would eat' according to the locals around here..hehe.(Oh by the way, talking about 'locals', I've been looking very carefully at folks hands around here and counting fingers?, ever since I read that posting. No problem, they's all got six on each hand, same as me.) Thats why you never find it in the local Supermarkets only by special order from the city, Marmite that is....roflroflroflrofl...hehe
God Bless, Take good care of yourself for us all..
Loads of Love
Uncle Brian & Auntie Holly.
P.S. Had a 'barney' the other evening down the local, said anyone that has to wear a full body armour suit to play rugby was a WUSS!!! rofl!..byeeeeeeee
Morning everyone, so glad to be back in our beds, a good nights sleep all round. Brian, you say about wussies, on Friday Chelsea football team came to the hospital to see the kids, Brad was not impressed, he's not a footie fan and certainly didn't want to meet a load of girlie footie players. Just a quick thankyou also to Rich and Julie, clever people, for the special chemo t-shirts!!!! fantastic what you can do with velcro!! Shelly, the hospital have given me a can of ice cold spray to use for Brad's injection, but also he didn't like the idea of an injection every day, so we are using a very very tiny cannula port to inject through instead, the Macmillan nurse will put that in for me to use.
Hi all, Glad to hear your home and well. The hat is something else by the way. Sounds like you had an alright time of things not being sick etc hopefully we dont hear that your back up the local unless its the pub or course....
Anyhoo glad to hear your ok speak to you soon. Tina Bri and girls
Hi-ho chaps! Simon here.
Just a quick comm to say i'm glad you've reacted so well to the second cycle. I've had a little taster of what you must have been through when you turned neutropaenic, i'm not looking forward to it, but will keep you updated nevertheless :D
